What is Amigo Fix It?

Amigo Fix It is a marketplace that instantly connects you with vetted, highly-rated Pros at a pre-set rate or quote (based on industry average or less).

How does Amigo Fix It work?

To get started, select a service category, choose your dates, and describe what you need done. Once you click 'confirm', your job request will be sent out to all of our Pros in that category.

Each pro will have a chance to review the job and accept if they think it is right for them. Once accepted, you can discuss the job details with your Pro.
Some services offer a free quote. In this case, you might match with multiple Pros. You can discuss the job with each pro before they submit a quote. Then, accept the quote that works for you.

If you decide to cancel the job after speaking with your Pro, there is no charge.

Who are Amigo Fix It Pros?

Amigo Fix It is a platform for companies, not individuals. All Amigo Fix It Pros are either the owner/operator or an employee of a company that has been thoroughly vetted and has maintained a high rating from Amigo Fix It customers.

How are Amigo Fix It Pros vetted?

All companies must be in good standing with at least $2M in liability insurance, up-to-date licenses/certifications within their category, and have strong references and reviews. We also conduct a thorough background check which searches over 200,000 databases from 200+ countries.

They also must maintain a high rating from Amigo Fix It customers.

How do I speak to a Pro?

You'll need to create a job request so we can match you with a Pro. Once a Pro accepts your request, you'll be able to speak with them directly. If you decide to cancel the job after speaking with your Pro, there is no charge.

How does pricing work?

Amigo Fix It has two different pricing models: pre-set rates and quoted jobs.

Most of our service categories have pre-set rates. These rates have a minimum cost, along with an additional unit price. Pros will do their best to let you know ahead of time roughly how much the entire job should be.

Larger jobs are listed with a 'Free Quote', where our pros are happy to provide an estimate in advance using pictures and descriptions, or they might visit the job site to complete your quote.

What are Amigo Fix It+ Memberships?

Amigo+ is an optional membership that saves $25 off every job (plus a few more benefits) for just $10 per month. If you select the Amigo+ rate when you book, you will automatically be signed up as a Amigo+ Member and your card will be billed $10 monthly. You may cancel anytime.

If you do not wish to be a Amigo+ member, simply select the regular rate when you book a job. You can be reassured that regular customers still get the same high-quality Pros from Amigo Fix It.

I have a small job, do I have to pay the minimum pre-set rate?

Yes. The minimum rate compensates Pros as they still need to block off at least 1-2 hours for your visit. It may help to compile a list of similar tasks around the house for your Pro. That way, both you and your Pro can make the most out of their visit.

Can I use Amigo Fix It for a renovation?

Amigo Fix It does not have a specific category for renovations or general contractors; however, your job may fall under one or more services like Plumbing and Handyman. Customer support can help if you’re unsure which services to book. Once you request a job, a Pro can accept the job if it is within scope.

Can I cancel my job after booking?

Yes. You may cancel free of charge at any time until your pro is on their way to the job. If you cancel after the professional is ‘en route’ you will be charged the minimum fee.

If the professional does not arrive at the premises of the job within a reasonable amount of time after the expiry of the appointment window, your cancellation fee will be waived.

How long will it take to accept my request?

It generally takes up to 30 minutes for your job to be accepted. If your job is not accepted within an hour, it's possible your request is in the wrong category, out of scope of what our Pros are able to take on, or in rare cases, we may not have an available Pro within your time frame. We'll reach out once we have a team member review your request.

You can also edit your request at any time if you wish to update the dates of availability, add a more detailed description, or some photos!

Do I need to provide my credit card info?

A credit card or Visa debit is required before you request a job with a pre-set rate. This is for ease of invoicing and payment. Your card is securely stored on file and will not be billed for the service until the job is complete - and is always protected by our Home Protection Plan.

If you make any additional purchases such as a Amigo+ membership or an offer for discounted Amigo credits, your card will be charged for those add-ons at the time of creating the job.

If you are requesting a free quote, a credit card is optional while booking and not required until you’ve accepted a quote from your Pro. At that point, you will be asked to provide credit card or Visa debit details.

Why didn’t a Pro accept my job?

There are a few reasons a job may not get accepted right away.

The job is slightly out of our service area. If this is the case, there are fewer Pros that will travel to you and it may take a bit longer for your job to get accepted.
More details are needed or the job may be out of scope for most Pros.
We simply do not have any Pros available within your requested time frame.


In each situation, customer support will reach out if we are unable to accommodate your request completely, need more info, or need a couple of backup dates/times to get the job accepted.

Paying for completed job

When creating an account, you will be prompted to add your credit card before you can request a job and send it out to our pros. Your card will not be charged until the job is complete.

The card on file will be charged by your pro through Amigo Fix It once the job is complete. The Pro will enter the hours/costs based on the pre-set rate or agreed quote and charge your card.

The invoice will then be sent out via email and updated on your profile - you are provided 24 hours to review your bill before it will automatically be processed to the credit card on your account.

Job complete but not billed yet.

Not to worry! Sometimes the pros simply bill out at the end of the day. You'll receive the emailed invoice once they get to it - and of course it'll only be for the time they were on-site.

Additional Charges / Extra Costs

If your job requires materials, parts, permits, parking, etc., your Pro will advise you in advance to get approval or to not proceed. If approved, these costs will show up on your invoice in the 'Additional Costs' line item.

If your job required additional labour (say, for a heavy mirror to be hung), your Pro will also advise you in advance to get approval or to not proceed, but this additional cost will show up in the 'labour' line item on the receipt.

After hours rates

Certain categories have after hours rates on weekday evenings as of 5pm, weekends and holidays, which are 1.5X regular rates. This will be mentioned on the specific category's rate card upon booking.

We aim to have industry average rates within each category (or cheaper with Amigo+). Charging industry average rates is key as to encourage Pros within the certain categories to accept your job. That's why certain categories (ex. Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Services, etc.) have after hours rates.

Note: If you request an appointment Monday to Friday before 5pm (morning/afternoon), you will not be charged this rate. If a pro accepts for the evening or later asks to come in the evening, the regular rate is honored.

Reschedule Appointment with Pro

Things come up and we understand! Since your job has already been accepted, the best thing to do is message your pro directly in the app to request a new date.

Once you have confirmed a new date with your Pro, they will be able to edit this on your job request.

Note: Please try to reach out to your pro before the Pro is en route to avoid cancellation fees.

Job ETA (Estimate Time of Arrival)

Once your job has been accepted, you will be sent an email and app notification - You will be able to see who is coming and when.

The job will note the Date and ETA. The ETA will have a 1 - 3 hour window depending on the category. You pro will arrive any time in this time window.

Pro is late/no show

We pride ourselves on excellent and timely service! Once your job is accepted, it is always best to message your pro directly in the app to confirm the ETA and the job details.

In the rare case your pro doesn't show up within the ETA, it is best to check your messages to see if they advised they're running late. Either way, it is best to send them a quick message to see what happened.

If you do not hear from your pro, please message Amigo Fix It to let us know. We will then work on finding out what happened. In this case, we can re-send your request back out ASAP to find a replacement or reschedule with your current pro.

Requested Job Cancelled

Each requested job that is not accepted after 24-48 hours will be cancelled.

We will also send you an email to advise this is the case.

Become a Amigo Pro

We're always looking for new companies to work with. We have on-boarding meetings for new company owners online every week.

Amigo is free for companies to be on and receive job alerts from Amigo clients; there's no subscription or per-lead fee. Rather, our fee is a nominal percentage of each job billed through the platform. You'll only pay for completed jobs.

It's important to note that Amigo is a platform for established companies with a proven track record in their field. All companies will need the following while applying:
Tax ID Number
Licenses/certification within field
At least $2M in liability insurance
Strong references and reviews

Pro ratings & reviews

Rather than making homeowners scour through dozens of reviews, each Amigo Pro will have their average rating displayed upon job acceptance. These ratings are given by other Amigo users who've had them in the past, so you can be 100% sure they're as authentic as can be.

Pros must maintain a high rating to remain on Amigo - so rest assured that they take each and every job very seriously, always striving for a thumbs up and a positive review.

In addition to ensuring each Pro maintains a high rating, we pre-vet them prior to them joining the Amigo platform. All companies must have at least $2M in liability insurance, up-to-date licenses/certifications within their category and strong references/reviews. We also conduct a thorough background check which searches over 200,000 databases from 200+ countries.
